The Center of the Sky
This is my first star trail of the Big Dipper taken in Wilmington, Ohio on August 6th, 2013 around 11PM. It is a "stacked" image of 47 30-second exposures taken over a period of roughly 25 minutes (ISO1600, 24mm, f/4.0, Canon 5Diii). I took one similar to this a few nights before, but without the trails, and decided I wanted to try something a little more interesting.
In the photo: Big Dipper (center left), a plane going through (straight line center), a satellite (very faint towards the bottom left to right), and two shooting stars (one pretty bright below the north star and the other very faint near the center just below the plane's path).
